FUE Hair Transplantation (FUE)

Hair transplantation surgery today mainly consists of two primary techniques. The first is Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT), which involves surgically removing a strip of scalp to extract hair follicles. This method often results in a visible linear scar, requires longer recovery time, and can be more difficult to manage post-surgery.

The second—and now more widely preferred—method is Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). This technique involves no scalp cutting, leaves no large scars, requires little to no downtime, and provides natural-looking, satisfying results. It has quickly become the most popular choice for modern hair restoration.

The doctor will shave a section of hair at the back of the head, known as the donor area—a zone typically unaffected by DHT hormones. This allows for easier extraction and ensures an accurate assessment of the number of grafts that can be harvested without causing future thinning in the donor area.

Local anesthesia is applied to the donor area. Using a precise micro-punch tool with a diameter of only 1 mm, the doctor carefully extracts individual hair follicle units. This step requires high levels of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional expertise to select only the healthiest, most viable grafts.

The extracted grafts are immediately placed in a top-grade graft preservation solution to maintain their quality while outside the body. Since the extraction process typically takes 2–4 hours, proper storage is crucial. The grafts are also sorted by type to match the right follicles to the right areas during implantation, ensuring the most natural-looking outcome.

Next, local anesthesia is administered to the recipient area (usually the front hairline). Using a sapphire blade just 1 mm wide, the doctor creates tiny recipient sites with precision. Then, using fine-tipped forceps, each graft is carefully implanted into place. This stage is highly delicate and requires the doctor to arrange grafts with perfect density, angle, and direction to replicate the natural hair growth pattern—while working efficiently to preserve graft viability. The result: healthier, stronger hair growth with minimal recovery time.

The Advantages of FUE Hair Transplantation
  • Minimally invasive with no visible scarring

  • Quick recovery—no downtime needed

  • Natural results and long-lasting satisfaction

The FUE method allows patients to return to their daily routine almost immediately, with minimal discomfort and no large scars—making it a safe, effective, and confidence-boosting choice for modern hair restoration
